Fun and adventure in a new Tenerife playground

The La Perdoma district, in the municipality of La Orotava on the island of Tenerife, now has a new space for leisure and community life following the inauguration of the La Cuesta urban park. The project involved the complete transformation of an area previously occupied by a small sports court, incorporating new playgrounds, sports facilities, and gathering spaces for local residents.

As part of this project, Industrias Agapito supplied various recreational and sports facilities through Archipiélago Suministros Industriales, the company’s official distributor in the Canary Islands. The installation has been designed to provide varied and inclusive play experiences adapted to different ages and abilities.

The most prominent feature of the park is the large themed Treehouse playset, a spectacular structure almost seven metres high that has become the park’s main visual landmark. Inspired by nature and decorated with vegetation and animal-themed elements, it includes a tubular slide, climbing areas, different play levels, and early childhood stimulation spaces for younger children.

The play offer is complemented by a TRIBOX nest swing, particularly suitable for collective play and the participation of children with different abilities, encouraging shared experiences in a safe and inclusive environment.

The park also incorporates the Burbujas rocker, a dynamic play element equipped with an elastic rotating mechanism that cushions movement and provides a fun and safe play experience. Alongside it, the Volador carousel has been installed, a rotating game that encourages social interaction, coordination, and balance while users enjoy movement.

The project is completed with a calisthenics area equipped with apparatus certified in accordance with European Standard EN 16630 for permanently installed outdoor fitness equipment. This space expands the park’s range of uses, allowing teenagers and adults to enjoy an area dedicated to sport and physical exercise within the urban environment.

The play areas also feature impact-absorbing safety surfacing, contributing to improved accessibility and user protection. The entire project has been developed following criteria of landscape integration, accessibility, and sustainability, creating an attractive space for leisure, physical activity, and community interaction.

With this new installation, La Orotava continues to expand its network of high-quality public spaces, while Industrias Agapito strengthens its presence in the Canary Islands through projects that combine design, innovation, and social value to improve citizens’ experience of urban spaces.
