Seville Unveils the Pirate Tower in La Rinconada

Proyecto: Children Playground

Fecha: October 2026

Ubicación: Rinconada (Spain)

La Rinconada, in the province of Seville, has had a new playground for several weeks, with the Giant “Pirate” Tower as its main attraction. This 6.3-metre-high playset by Industrias Agapito makes the pirate ship the central theme of the entire space. Children can climb the tower via a ladder, explore it through skylights and descend through two tube slides, while discovering a treasure maze, a crawling tunnel and an early stimulation area with a steering wheel and sliding panels designed for the youngest users. With capacity for 22 users at the same time and a recommended age range of 1 to 14 years, it is an installation where a large number of children of very different ages can play together.

Next to the tower, the multiple hexagonal swing the paintbrushes stands out. This six-seat hexagonal structure combines four flat seats with two inclusive seats, allowing children with reduced mobility or those who need additional support to swing alongside their friends, without being left out or needing a separate piece of equipment. The area is completed by a 3-Module Zig-Zag Rope Course, a route featuring bridges with obstacles and suspended platforms that encourages children to move, work out where to place their feet and briefly lose their balance before recovering it — something that at these ages translates directly into confidence and a desire to try again.

The Seville neighbourhood of La Rinconada now has a new and enjoyable meeting place. Designing the space so that everyone can participate, regardless of their abilities, is also a way of supporting community life in the neighbourhood. Playing together, climbing, swinging alongside others or completing a rope course are experiences that encourage children to be more active, interact with others and overcome their fear of trying — ultimately, much of what a visit to the playground is all about.

Industrias Agapito, manufacturer of playgrounds and sports equipment, continues to install this type of themed and inclusive play area in municipalities throughout Spain, creating play spaces where all children can take part, regardless of their abilities.
