The Veleta Series Lands at a School in Mauritius

The international presence of Industrias Agapito, manufacturer of children’s playgrounds, now reaches the Indian Ocean. École du Nord, a French-English bilingual international school located in Village Labourdonnais, Mapou, in the north of Mauritius, has chosen Industrias Agapito products to equip its new playground. Founded in 1974, the school welcomes more than 1,350 students aged 3 to 15 from different nationalities, in an environment where student wellbeing and educational innovation are key values.
The installed equipment combines free play, motor development, and cognitive stimulation. The two main structures are the Gran Veleta Playset and the Veleta Bridge Playset, two wooden sets that integrate towers, slides, sliding bars, climbing elements, and bridges between platforms. Both structures comply with international playground safety standards and are manufactured with highly durable materials designed to withstand both intensive school use and the tropical climate of the island.
The playground is completed with a Floating Bridge, a balance game that develops coordination and motor skills, and an Early Stimulation Monkey Bars, a particularly relevant element for a school with a strong educational vocation such as École du Nord. In addition to developing hand-eye coordination, lung capacity, and muscle strength, this game includes a height measuring feature called “The Giraffe”, the “Guess the Colour” game in English, and a panel with engraved letters — a perfect complement to the school’s bilingual educational approach.
This project in Mauritius is another example of the international reach of Industrias Agapito, a Spanish manufacturer of playground equipment with a growing presence in schools, parks, and public spaces around the world.
