Alicante Unveils a New Inclusive Outdoor Fitness Park in Petrer
Proyecto: Sport area
Fecha: September 2025
Ubicación: Petrer (Spain)
The town of Petrer, in the province of Alicante, now boasts a new outdoor sports park—a versatile space set in nature that combines calisthenics zones, a bio-healthy circuit, a senior fitness area, and sustainable urban furniture. This project, executed by Industrias Agapito, responds to the growing demand for public spaces that promote active lifestyles and intergenerational well-being in open and accessible environments.
Located in a privileged natural setting, the new park stands out for its inclusive design, featuring fitness elements suitable for all ages and physical conditions. It encourages regular exercise, social interaction, and contact with the natural environment. At the heart of the park is a full calisthenics circuit, including structures specially designed for bodyweight training. The setup features a zigzag Cross Training unit with suspended ropes that help develop coordination, balance, and strength by mastering body swing control. It also includes an inclined ladder adapted for wheelchair users, enabling upper-body suspension exercises. This training hub is complemented by a street workout station with seven bars and posts, ideal for improving flexibility, muscular endurance, and agility.
Next to the main training area, the park features a bio-healthy circuit designed for older adults or anyone seeking moderate, health-enhancing physical activity. Installed equipment includes a mobile obstacle course that playfully improves balance and functional mobility, an outdoor elliptical bike for low-impact cardiovascular exercise, and arm wheels that promote upper-body mobility. The circuit is completed with inclined parallel bars for users to perform push-ups, dips, or core exercises, with an inclusive design that accommodates people with disabilities.
The project also includes accessible urban furniture, such as benches made from recycled plastic planks. These benches follow the accessibility and non-discrimination guidelines set out in Spanish regulation TMA/851/2021, offering modern aesthetics, low maintenance, and environmental sustainability.
Thanks to this initiative, the town of Petrer gains a new public space that blends health, inclusion, and sustainability. It’s a place where people of all ages can care for their bodies, enjoy the natural surroundings, and share an active outdoor lifestyle. At Industrias Agapito, a manufacturer of urban fitness equipment and solutions for calisthenics parks, bio-healthy circuits, and senior playgrounds, we remain committed to designing public spaces that improve quality of life and promote accessible physical activity for all.
