The JUGA Series Arrives in Madrid’s Salamanca District
Proyecto: Children Playground
Fecha: April 2026
Ubicación: Madrid (Spain)
The Salamanca district of Madrid now features a new play area designed to stimulate creativity, psychomotor development, and inclusion. The playground includes several elements from the JUGA series, a contemporary play line manufactured by Industrias Agapito that encourages children to freely explore their surroundings and creatively interpret the space.
The JUGA series is the result of in-depth research on childhood development through play. Designed by architects Miguel Antón Malo, Juan Luis Lahoz Monfort, Carolina Martí Sendra, and Carlos Martín La Moneda, the collection is characterized by a geometric system based on the repetition of a single piece that generates different spatial configurations. This approach creates open and symbolic play landscapes where each child can experiment, imagine, and discover new forms of interaction.
The new playground includes several elements that promote both active play and universal accessibility. Among them is an inclusive carousel, designed so that children with reduced mobility can fully participate in the play experience. It is complemented by an adapted nest swing, which allows children with different abilities to use it comfortably and encourages shared play.
The installation is completed with the JUGA Spacecraft Playset, a structure formed by two JUGA modules connected by a walkway. This configuration multiplies the play possibilities and invites children to explore challenges related to balance, coordination, and adventure. The structure consists of two towers that include circular entrances, rotating wheels, a skylight, climbing nets, a three-point star net, geometric engravings, a circular bar bridge, a viewing platform, a slide, and a walkway connecting both modules.
Each element of the JUGA series integrates different stages of child development within the same design, allowing children of different ages to interact with the equipment according to their psychomotor stage. In this way, the playground becomes a dynamic space that promotes physical activity while supporting cognitive and social development.
With this project, Industrias Agapito, manufacturer of children’s playgrounds, continues to contribute to the creation of innovative urban spaces where design, safety, and the educational value of play come together to offer new experiences for children in the city.
