Sport, Fun and Adventure in Fuendetodos, Zaragoza

The Balsa Playground in Fuendetodos (Zaragoza) has renovated three of its areas with new sports and children’s leisure equipment supplied and installed by Industrias Agapito, combining a street-workout-style functional training zone, a triple zip line and a playground with a rope circuit, nest swing and balance elements. A commitment to outdoor sport and play that turns the playground into a meeting point for all ages.

The first area features a 9-post street workout set with different bar configurations for calisthenics routines, and a cross-training square fitted with kettlebells and suspension ropes for combined functional work. It’s completed with a double vaulting box for jump exercises, H1200mm parallel bars and an ab bench for core work. Outdoor training gains more followers every year thanks to its accessible, free-of-charge nature: no gym membership or monthly fee needed to get in shape — just the will to move and good equipment close to home.

Right next to it, the second area debuts the La Jungla triple zip line, with 20 metres of cable and 15 metres of usable run, capacity for three simultaneous users and a fall height of just one metre, making it suitable for children aged 6 to 14. Few things captivate children quite like sliding down a zip line: that mix of speed, adventure and a touch of vertigo that turns any afternoon at the playground into a memorable experience, while also encouraging kids to play as a team and take turns.

Rounding out the set is a playground made up of a four-module zig-zag rope circuit for developing balance and coordination, a Tribox nest swing for group play, and two balance elements — Triple Surf and El Surf — that recreate the motion of a surfboard. Free outdoor play is, beyond just fun, a natural way for children to build balance, confidence and social skills — something no electronic device can replace. As with the sports zone, ground preparation for this area was the client’s responsibility.

Industrias Agapito, manufacturer of playgrounds and sports equipment, thus adds a new reference project to its work in the province of Zaragoza. Initiatives like this one reflect an increasingly established trend: turning public spaces into places where sport, play and outdoor life take centre stage for people of all ages.
