Lacasitos Terrace: Zaragoza Hospital Children Playground

Proyecto: Children Playground

Fecha: November 2025

Ubicación: Zaragoza (Spain)

The Maternal and Children’s Hospital of Zaragoza has inaugurated its new ‘Lacasitos Terrace’—a space designed to provide well-being, comfort, and moments of relief to hospitalised children and their families. Located on the fifth floor of the hospital, this terrace has been transformed into a vibrant, light-filled and joyful area where play becomes a therapeutic and emotional tool for the little ones.

At Industrias Agapito, we’ve had the honour of taking part in this inspiring project, contributing our knowledge and experience in designing safe, inclusive, and fully adapted play areas for all children.

The new space features a variety of elements that promote sensory stimulation, socialisation, and shared joy:
• Spooky Big Eather Little House, a themed structure with friendly monsters that invite children to imagine and play.
• Inclusive mixed swing, featuring a cradle-style safety seat for babies and another with a folding harness to include all children in the fun.
• Ladybag spring rider, a double inclusive spring toy that encourages interaction between children—including those who use wheelchairs—thanks to its easy access and ergonomic handles.
• Light and colour play unit for early stimulation, designed to support the development of touch and vision, as well as the learning of basic concepts like colours, shapes and reflections.
• Decorative shock-absorbing flooring, ensuring safety while extending playtime in a cheerful and welcoming environment.

The ‘Lacasitos Terrace’ is the result of an initiative by the hospital’s healthcare staff and the collaboration of Grupo Lacasa, who helped turn an idea full of hope into a haven of well-being for hospitalised children.

In the words of the medical team, this space was created with the aim of “offering well-being, comfort and moments of relief” to young patients, giving families a place to continue sharing smiles beyond the hospital room.

At Industrias Agapito, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks for the opportunity to be part of such a meaningful project. It moves us deeply to know that our play elements will accompany children during some of their toughest moments—helping to create positive experiences where they’re needed most. Because we truly believe that play also heals.
